Guide to PKing with a Pure

The Mage

Strategy - Mages are often successful against melee pkers due to the fact that most magic spells hit harder against plate armor. Another advantage mages have over melee pkers is that they can attack from a distance. Set the spell as your default and attack, and try to keep a distance from your opponent, whether melee or ranger. Dont waste runes on a kill that isnt worth the runes you will use.

What to wear/bring Be sure to bring a wizards robe with a hat, magic ammy, and a staff (Air or Fire). Include plenty of food, and teleport runes are optional. If you choose, you can also bring platemail legs and a shield.

Spells Fire bolt is common for low level mages, and fire blast for those more advanced. Bind runes and teleport runes are optional.

The Ranger

Strategy Like the mage, the ranger is most effective from a distance. Use this well to help defeat your enemies. Rangers are especially effective against mages due to the fact that wizards robes are poor defense against ranged attacks. Rangers are also able to shoot faster than mages, which is an added bonus for obvious reasons.

What to wear/bring Full green dragonhide is advisable, but not necessary. A shortbow is preferred by most users because if its rapid firepower, but others prefer a longbow because it maximizes attacking distance. Bring one kind of arrow, adamant arrows are advisable. As with any kind of pker, stock your inventory full of food (lobsters and swordfish are advised).

Strength Pure/ Warrior

Description This type of pker is preferred by most users because it costs the least amount of money to maintain. You wont have to spend money or time with arrows and runes, just get in there and fight!

Strategy There are many different ways to make a melee pure, your job is to find the type that suits you best. Many melee pkers do their best work in multi-combat zones or by hitting the opponent from behind as they run. Free version warriors have the opportunity to inflict a lot of damage on other pkers. Prayer is also effective when used well as a melee pure/pker. Scimitars are often the weapon of preference because of their ability to strike fast and hard.

What to wear/bring You have several options at this point. You can use any combination of clothes and armor, all of personal preference. Full rune can be cumbersome; many warriors bring robes or dragonhide. Monks robes slow the drain rate of your prayer, and dragonhide armor defends well against mages and rangers. Be sure to wear an amulet and bring a strength potion and plenty of food.

Maximizing Hitpoints

Obviously, it is very important to have a high hitpoints level in the wild. Good pures have their hitpoints much higher than their combat. Here are some tips to getting the highest hitpoint level possible on your pker:

Always use the genie lamp toward hitpoints experience.

NOTE: Only use Attack Spells instead of alchemy ect, if you wish your combat level to be higher. When training magic, use attack spells instead of alchemy, teleports, and confuse/weakens.

Don't complete quests that award experience points toward specific combat skills. Do NOT complete Imp Catcher, Demon Slayer, Witch's Potion, or Vampire Slayer on a pure account. It is ok to complete Restless Ghost for easy prayer exp.

In the Wilderness

Food:

What to bring:

HP 10-40: Trout, Salmon, Tuna
HP 41+: Lobsters, Swordfish

Do not EVER bring cake into the Wilderness.

Important: Time your eating! This takes practice. Timing your eating can mean the difference between life and death in a close fight. In a one on one fight, try to wait until 1/3 of your hitpoints are remaining before you heal.

Pking in Teams:

Tips:

Always follow your leader with run on. That way, if he runs - so do you.

In multi-combat zones, have everyone on your team attack the same person for a quick KO.

In non-multi areas, if your team member is fighting an opponent, follow the opponent with run on.

* Never eat or pot while hitting an enemy from behind as they run!

Running Tips:

If you must:

Use a monster to stall (works well against a melee opponent in a non-multi combat zone).

To evade an enemy, try running through fungus (south of moss giants) or through a thick patch of trees.

Magic & Prayer:

Weaken/Curse/Confuse spells: Don't even bother using them in the Wilderness. They aren't very effective and are a waste of inventory space.

Teleporting: Just don't do it. No decent clan will ever accept you if you constantly run/border/tele (one vs one).

Using Prayer: There is no shame in using 'protect item', although some pkers won't use it in a one on one battle (assuming the enemy fights fairly). Strength and attack prayers are very effective for pures.

Strength Pure Guide

-Making your first 20K-
Either use the tips on this link ,or follow the guide below. Following the guide below is useful, for you must return to the location that you make that first 20k later in the guide to train.

Ok, so you just finished your mini-tutorial and you are now on mainland, but wait, where is your gear? Oh yea, fricken Jagex took that out so now you actually have to work for it. Well, guess what? Ill help you start off. After setting your recovery questions and registering an email address, head over to barbarian village (food is recommended if you’re able to obtain). Go down the hole in the middle of the town and go through all of the gates until you get to a little chest. In the chest you will get a new emote and some money. Do this on the next few levels (on the 3rd level you also get healed from the chest). By the end, you should have 10k and a new set of boots (if you’re going to be a hybrid then you should get the fancy boots, but if you’re going to be an all out strength pure, get the combat boots). Now, go back to the surface and head north. You should see an exclamation point (!) on the mini map, find that and go down the little crack.

If you run a bit to the west, you should see a lever, pull it. Then head east and go down the flight of stairs, go straight into the door in front of you and go around the wall until you see the big chest. From this chest you will get combat gloves, two 500xp lamps, and 10k. There you go, your first 20k!

-Equipment-

The first things you should/could buy with your 20k include 1 set of full iron (monk robes if you plan on training prayer), an amulet of strength, food of your choice, strength pots if desired, and all scimitars up to adamant (I advise you not to buy a bronze and black scimitar because a black scimitar is technically the same as steel, it just costs more and a bronze scimitar, well, you can use iron.. o_O).

-Training-

Training training training… boringest of all (in some cases) but everyone has to go through it.

To start off, equip your iron scimitar, amulet of strength, full iron, and head off to the chicken pen either east of lumbridge or south of Falador and kill those chickens until 15 strength 5 attack then whip out your steel scimmy.

After that, head over to the cows south of Varrock since the ones in Lumbridge are usually crowded and kill them until 40 strength 20 attack equipping your mithril scimitar at the end.

After you done , head over to the monastery west of Edgeville and kill monks until 50 strength, 30-40 attack. While here, you don’t really need to bring food since the monks can heal you but if your cautious then go ahead and bring some.

Then after you reach 50 strength and your desired attack level, head over to flesh crawlers in the stronghold(where u got your 1st 10k) and kill them until 60 strength/40 attack.

Congratz on hitting 60 strength/40 attack! You are now considered a strength pure! :D. Now you have two choices, 1. Go PK and pwn some nubs, or 2. Continue training on flesh crawlers until 70 strength (remember to keep 40 attack unless you are going to become a member). The choice is yours :D.

RUNESCAPE ULTIMATE F2P MAGE PURE GUIDE

It’s a 100% magic pure guide for runescape with 10HP. Basicly you use non attacking spells so that you don’t raise hitpoints level.

First of, get yourself a water, fire and earth staff and an armor with low magic attack. This way the spell will fail more often, you still get the xp and you get to cast it more times. The staffs will cost about 3k in G.E

  • LEVEL 1 – 3 ==> Wind Strike

Do this in the tutorial island. Cast wind strike on chickens until you get level 3. If you run out of runes, ask the wizard in the same room.

  • LEVEL 3 – 19 ==> Confuse

Before you do this, you should get money to buy runes. See the link for tips on how to make money fast.

Click here for Link to Money Making Guide!

Now head to the grand exchange and get yourself 586 earth runes and 293 body runes. Also, get your water staff from the bank and wield it.

Go to Varrock’s castle and right about on the entrance you will find a trapped monk of Zamorak. Get in position and start using your confuse spell on him until you get to magic level 19.

  • LEVEL 19 – 43 ==> Curse

Bank you water staff and get your earth one.

You will

need more cash to buy more runes. This time you will need either 310 spider eggs, 520 iron ores or 450 coal. Buy 3198 water runes and 1599 body runes. Head to the the monk of zamorak and this time use the spell curse on him. Remember to get yourself an armor with low magic attack so you gain xp faster.

  • LEVEL 43 – 55 ==> Superheat item

This time get you fire staff and buy 2195 nature runes and the same amount of iron ores, or you can mine them. You should be using your fire staff, then withdraw your nature runes and 27 iron ores from the bank. Use you superheat item spell on all the ore to make bars, bank them and take out another 27 ores. Repeat to level 55.

  • LEVEL 55 – 99 ==> High level alchemy

Keep your fire staff and buy another 197967 nature runes and the same number of any item to use your alchemy spell. Take out these item in a note and start alching until your level 99.

Most F2P mage pures stop at level 60 and being PKing, but that's up to you.

Leveling magic is a very long and tedious thing, you must have patience to complete this task.
